•
...an operator demonstrates to the board at the time of applying for a permit or
at a subsequent hearing that toxic or acid chemicals are not stored or used on-
site and that acid- or toxic- producing materials will not be used, stored, or
disturbed in quantities sufficient to adversely affect any person, any property,
or the environment.
Section 1
Introduction
Denison has prepared this EPP in accordance with Denison s corporate commitment
to environmental protection, and their obligation for protection of human health,
property, and the environment in conformance with the duties of operators as
prescribed by the CMLRA.
This document is generally organized in accordance with existing rules at HRMMR §
6.4.20. However, as mentioned previously, the rules have not yet been modified to
provide specific direction for conventional uranium mines designated as DMOs by
Colorado HB 1161. Therefore, the organization of this document has been modified
somewhat to address site - specific issues. This document is organized as follows:
• Section 2.0- Potential for Adverse Impacts; [HRMMR §§ 6.4.20(1) and 6.4.20(14)]
• Section 3.0- Environmental Protection Measures and Monitoring Required by Other
Agencies; [HRMMR §§ 6.4.20(3) and 6.4.20(4)]
• Section 4.0- Designated Chemical(s) Evaluation; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(5)]
• • Section 5.0- Handling of Designated Chemicals and Acid- or Toxic - forming
Materials; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(6)]
• Section 6.0- Evaluation of Proposed and Existing Environmental Protection
Facilities; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(7)]
• Section 7.0- Groundwater Information; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(8)]
• Section 8.0- Groundwater Quality; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(9)]
• Section 9.0- Surface Water; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(10)]
• Section 10- Surface Water Quality Data; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(11)]
• Section 11- Water Quality Monitoring Plan; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(12)]
• Section 12- Climate; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(13)]
• Section 13- Geochemical Data and Analysis; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(14)]
• Section 14- Construction Schedule; [HRMMR § 6.4.20(15)]
• Section 15- Construction Quality Assurance Quality Control Plan; [HRMMR §
6.4.20(16)]
C:1Documents an Settings ) cwoodward .DMC \Desktoo)Environmental Protection Plan Sunday Mines Revised November 2011 rev t (2) 11 10 11.doco
1 -3
