Sampling stations for this permit are described below. <br />NE -001 is a grab sample station from the New Elk Mine water discharge V -notch flume <br />located on the Purgatoire River for NPDES Discharge Permit CO- 0000906. The station <br />monitors the quality and quantity of mine water discharge from the New Elk Mine. During the <br />third quarter of 1989, the mine was sealed and the discharge of mine inflow water was <br />terminated until pumping resumed in December of 2008. <br />
