groundwater induced by irrigation and precipitation run -off in the vicinity of Loma. Flows are
high during the peak of the irrigation season and are low during the winter. High flows would
also occur as a response to intense precipitation events. Water quality measured at USGS
gauging station 391038108475601 (Loma Drain at Mouth), is similar to water quality in Reed
Wash. The 100 -year floodplain of the Colorado River extends into Loma Drain for
approximately 0.22 mile upstream from its confluence with Reed Wash.
Clarification on Quantity of Mined Coal
MCM proposes to mine 600,000 tons of raw coal per year. Because the raw coal may not be
marketable, CAM is proposing to "clean" the coal in an air jig plant which would yield 500,000
tons year marketable coal:
Thank you and your staff for the coordinated effort.
