Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is reassigning some of the lead responsibilities <br />for coal mine permits. Marcia Talvitie will replace Tom Kaldenbach as the lead specialist for the <br />Carbon Junction Mine. Marcia is located in the Division's Durango field office. Her address is: <br />691 CR233, Suite A -2, Durango, CO 81301; her telephone number is: 970 - 247 -1184; and her e- <br />mail is: Marcia.talvitie @state.co.us. Marcia will work with Tom and Dan Hernandez as <br />necessary to ensure a smooth transition. <br />All documents received or issued by the Division will be electronically imaged and digitally filed. <br />In the Coal Program, a "hard copy' of the permit application package for each operation will be <br />maintained by individual environmental protection specialists, but the electronic permit <br />package and file will be the primary file available for use by operators and the general public, as <br />well as DRMS staff. <br />All document imaging will be done at the Denver office. To ensure that this process is <br />implemented as consistently and efficiently as possible, we are requesting that you adhere to <br />the following procedures regarding submittal of information to the Division. <br />• For revision applications, bond release applications, permit transfer applications and similar <br />applications or requests, please submit two sets to Marcia, at the Durango DRMS office, and <br />one set to our Denver office, addressed to Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety, Coal <br />Program Support Staff, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203. Adequacy <br />responses and other correspondence should be handled the same as initial submittals; one <br />set to Denver and two sets to Marcia in Durango. At the conclusion of the review process, <br />once the Division's decision is final, please prepare and submit one set of approved <br />Office of <br />Denver • Grand junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines <br />
