DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866 -3567
FAX: (303) 832 -8106
November 2, 2011
Dick White
Energy Fuels Resources
44 Union Blvd., Unit 600
Lakewood, Colorado 80228
RE: Notice of Intent to Conduct Prospecting (NO!), P-2008-059, Tenderfoot Mesa, Modification MD -2,
Review Complete and Reclamation Liability Estimate.
Dear Mr. White,
On September 29, 2011 the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) received Energy Fuel's
request for a modification to the above referenced NOI. The Division sent a notice of deficiencies to
Energy Fuels on October 26, 2011. Energy Fuels responded to the review on October 31, 2011. Staff
notes the issues raised in the review have been corrected or clarified.
Based on the response from Energy Fuels the Division has calculated the additional reclamation liability
for the additional 11 drill holes proposed. The estimate includes sealing the holes, some miscellaneous
earthwork for drill pad and road disturbance and revegetation. Not included was mobilization, which is
already factored in the original liability. The additional reclamation liability estimate is $2,955.00. A
copy of the estimate is being forwarded to the Grand Junction Bureau of Land Management for their
concurrence. Once the bond amount is agreed upon the Division can finish the approval process for the
modification.
Per Rule 5.1.3(c), the Division notified the applicant of the above reference deficiencies. The applicant
shall address the deficiencies within sixty (60) days of that letter (December 27, 2011, based on
weekend and holiday) or the Office may terminate the NOI file.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
