Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> NA -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> NA -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a partial inspection of the Seneca II-W Mine conducted by Susan Burgmaier, Sandy Brown,and Zack <br /> Trujillo of DRMS. Jill Carlson of the Colorado Geological Survey participated in the inspection to provide <br /> geotechnical assistance with the landslides. Jay James represented Seneca Coal Company during the site <br /> inspection. Weather conditions were sunny and warm;ground conditions were dry. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, <br /> 4.05.10;Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring <br /> 4.05.13;Drainage Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Ponds 006 and 016 and stock tank T5 held water. Stock tank T20 was muddy but not holding water. The <br /> spoil spring at the Pond 016A slide area was flowing into Pond 016. <br /> The leak on groundwater monitoring well WWC25 appeared to have worsened;there was an approximately 10' x <br /> 10' area around the well casing that was saturated. The water appeared to be leaking from the annulus of the well. <br /> This was confirmed by the operator,who provided information on the completion of the well that would suggest <br /> that the bentonite seal is faulty. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4); Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5)and <br /> (6)/4.03.2(5)and(6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> A backhoe was clearing culverts along the Tie-Across Haul Road. <br /> SLIDES and DAMAGE-Rule 4.12: <br /> Repair work was underway on the Pond 016A slide, in accordance with the approved plan under <br /> Technical Revision 73. Most of channel PM2 had been constructed and lined with rip rap,and Culvert J-2A had <br /> been installed. An excavator and bulldozer were working the road cut on the north/northeast side of Road J, <br /> excavating slide material for placement in the former Pond 016A location. The alignment of Road J had been <br /> roughed in,and will be placed further to the west than initially proposed,in order to keep the roadway out of the <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br />
