• SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that CDRMS will be provided with map(s) illustrating
the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate locations for
stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year (Map 1).
Table 5 -1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, coordinates (based on the
approximate center of the pile), acres, construction date and volume; which is updated annually.
During 2010, Trapper constructed two new stockpiles labeled K1 -10 and Ash 10. Additionally two
existing piles; H93 -3 and K1 -08 were totally depleted for topsoil replacement or relocation. Topsoil piles
A92 -2, F1 -09, G2 -06, H93 -2, Z1 -09 and Z2 -07 either had topsoil added or removed from them during
stripping and laydown activities in K Pit, A Pit, F Pit, Z -Pit and Horse Gulch.
At the end of 2010, excluding stockpiles abandoned with the approvals of MR -155 and TR -94, there are
67 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 180.6 acres and storing approximately 4,068,662 cubic
yards of salvaged topsoil.
Presently there are no proposed approximate locations for new topsoil stockpiles in 2011. Trapper is
planning to laydown the proposed stripping for the 2011 season. Additionally, existing piles may be
depleted from or added to in order to maintain a cost effective salvage or replacement program during a
particular year.
GCR/BDN 2/11
[Annual Report \DRMS10RFR10TStext5 -0]
•
•
