1.2.5 Cultural Practices
In addition to 2010 replaced topsoil revegetation practices, Trapper also conducted several
other cultural practices. These practices are addressed below.
Mature Shrub Transplant Clumps
In 2010, three shrub clumps were constructed. Two clumps in Flintlock pit reclamation and
the third is in East Flintlock. No new shrub clumps are planned for construction in 2011.
Drainage Reconstruction
Refer to Section 3.0 of this annual report.
Contour Ditch Construction
During 2010, Trapper did not construct contour ditches. Ditches were not necessary in
reclaimed areas of Ashmore, Flintlock and East Flintlock Pit (Map 1).
Stock Tank Construction
No new Stock Tanks were constructed during the 2010 field season. Refer to Section 6.
Stock Tank Reclamation
No Stock Tanks were reclaimed during the 2010 field season. Refer to Section 6.
• Developmental Drill Sites
During the 2010 Developmental Drilling season 22 holes were completed. Of these holes, 20
developmental drill sites were disturbed that required regrading and seeding. The remaining
two development drill sites are included within pit advancement disturbance by the end of
2011. Regraded holes are all located in the eastern portion of the mine, near the eastern
permit boundary.
Topsoil Piles
Refer to Section 5. Topsoil stockpiles were sloped and seeded to the approved 2010
perennial topsoil pile mix. Approximately 28.5 acres were treated.
Sediment Dams
East Middle Flume #1, East Pyeatt #1 and Oak #1 and #2 Ponds were cleaned during 2010.
1.2.6 Previously Revegetated Acres
The locations and acres for all previously revegetated areas, seeded to perennial species, are
presented in Map(s) 1. To date, Trapper has revegetated approximately 3,641.4 acres (126.0
acres in 2010) within the boundaries of active mining and has revegetated an additional 516.0
acres within the permit boundary but outside topsoil stripping limits. Of the total revegetated
acres, 2,919.6 reclaimed acres have received final phase III bond release.
Not shown on Map(s) 1 in this annual report are the areas seeded to temporary perennial
mixes that will require final reclamation prior to the end of the project (life of mine).
