Permeability . is moderate. Typically these soils <br />formed in slope alluvium and residuum from limestone. They occur on hills, ridges, scarps, cuestas, <br />mesas, and plains. The available water capacity is typically very low or low. The surface layer ranges <br />from 2 to 7 inches thick and is typically loam or channery loam. Rock fragment content ranges from 0 <br />to 35 percent. Limestone occurs at depths of 6 to 20 inches. The pH of these soils generally ranges <br />from moderately alkaline to strongly alkaline. The soil moisture regime is ustic aridic but ranges to <br />aridic in the driest areas of MLRA 69.
