• depths will be determined at the time of drilling and as the subsoil profiles become
evident The test holes will be advanced to investigate the subsurface profiles, obtain
samples for laboratory testing and estimate groundwater level and depth to bedrock, if
encountered. The test holes will be advanced with an all- terrain vehicle mounted drill rig
using 4 -inch diameter continuous flight augers and will be backfilled with drill cuttings
shortly after drilling is completed. The test holes will be advanced by Ager Drilling as a
subcontractor to NWCC.
2) Conduct a laboratory-testing program to evaluate the strength, compressibility or swell
characteristics and classification of the soils encountered at each of the sites.
3) Analyze the results of the field and laboratory investigations to provide foundation, site
grading and drainage recommendations for all the proposed structures.
4) Prepare a Geotechnical Investigation report that will summarize the data obtained and
present our conclusions and recommendations for design and construction as they relate
to geotechnical considerations. The field work and report preparation will be conducted
by or under the direct supervision of a registered professional engineer in the State of
Colorado.
Fee:
Based on the available information, we have estimated that our fee for completing the subsoil and
foundation investigation will range from - 1 . A breakdown of the estimated fees
• is shown in Appendix A. It should be noted that the fee range given above is an estimate and the
work will be completed with summer /fall access and billed on a time and materials basis in
accordance with the services completed and the fees indicated in the attached Fee Schedule and
General Conditions Sheet. Additional fees will most likely be incurred if the field investigation is
completed in the winter.
Please note that this proposal does not address construction phase services for the proposed
structure. We strongly recommend that the owner retain NWCC for construction phase services
of the project, as a minimum to observe the foundation excavations and/or construction to
ascertain whether the conditions are similar to those assumed in the report. NWCC can provide
the client with a detailed cost proposal/estimate for completing these services after the designs
and construction schedules have been completed_
Schedule:
NWCC can initiate the field investigation within 2 to 3 weeks of being given notice to proceed,
depending on the drilling or excavating subcontractor's schedule, site and climatic conditions. It
should be noted that this schedule is based on open access this summer or fall and significant
delays may be incurred due to winter weather conditions if notice to proceed is given after snow
cover is present. The field investigation efforts will continue as weather and site conditions
allow. We anticipate that it will take 2 weeks to complete the laboratory investigation under
normal conditions and up to 4 weeks in the winter.
• Apd( 15, 201 VjMage Crock Conveyor NWCC, Inc. p3gc 3
