Notice of Proposed Decision <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes Approve Surety Increase No. 1 <br />for Moffat County Mining, LLC's Williams Fork Mines (Permit No. C -1981 -044). The surety <br />increase is for an increase to the reclamation liability amount for the Williams Fork Mines due to <br />increases in the costs for future reclamation activities. The Division is proposing to increase the <br />reclamation liability amount from $3,552,679.00 to $3,590,971.00, an increase of $38,292.00. <br />The Williams Fork Mines are an underground coal operation that is not currently operational and is <br />located in Moffat County, approximately 7 miles south of Craig, Colorado. The permit area <br />encompasses approximately 6,363.00 acres. Coal interest is Federal, State and private and the surface <br />to be affected is also Federal, State and private. The permit area is contained within the U.S. <br />Geological Survey 7.5 minute Round Bottom and Castor Gulch maps. <br />A copy of the proposed decision and justification for the reclamation liability adjustment is on file for <br />public inspection at the Moffat County Clerk and Recorder's Office, 221 West Victory Way, Craig, <br />CO 81625; and the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215 Centennial <br />Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. <br />Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposed decision <br />may request a formal public hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board in accordance with <br />Rule 3.03.2(6). Requests for a public hearing must be received by the Division within thirty days of the <br />first publication in the Craig Daily Press. The request must be in writing and must state, with <br />reasonable specificity, the reasons for requesting such a hearing. All requests must be submitted to the <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, <br />Colorado, 80203. If no hearing is requested within those thirty days, the Division's decision will <br />become final. <br />
