The Division is proposing to increase the
reclamation liability amount from $3,552,679.00 to $3,590,971.00, an increase of $38,292.00.
The Williams Fork Mines are an underground coal operation that is not currently operational and is
located in Moffat County, approximately 7 miles south of Craig, Colorado. The permit area
encompasses approximately 6,363.00 acres. Coal interest is Federal, State and private and the surface
to be affected is also Federal, State and private. The permit area is contained within the U.S.
Geological Survey 7.5 minute Round Bottom and Castor Gulch maps.
A copy of the proposed decision and justification for the reclamation liability adjustment is on file for
public inspection at the Moffat County Clerk and Recorder's Office, 221 West Victory Way, Craig,
CO 81625; and the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215 Centennial
Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203.
Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposed decision
may request a formal public hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board in accordance with
Rule 3.03.2(6). Requests for a public hearing must be received by the Division within thirty days of the
first publication in the Craig Daily Press.
