•
•
that concrete floors should remain intact, piers and wall foundations should be knocked
over, rubblized in- place, and covered with construction debris to achieve a final "mound"
of rubble, which then can be covered with clean fill dirt. From a close study of the cost
data presented by DMG, this is where the basic difference in the cost numbers can be
explained.
2.2 DMG's Second Workbook M-493-5.WKB
DMG's Workbook M493 -5 in Lotus 123 format was converted to a Microsoft Excel
Worksheet. The revised Excel Worksheets ( "demo- costs - M493- 5- 11- 11 -97 ") show all
the DMG's column headings except for the "Means site location adjustment factor." On
all of the sheets of "demo- costs - M493- 5- 11- 11 -97" the DMG information was used in its
entirety except for the "Means site location adjustment factor" and two new columns
were added: (1) Projected Unit Costs, based on actual bids and field experience; and (2)
Climax Estimated / Actual Cost, which is a total cost derived from the DMG's volume
determination times the Projected Unit Costs.
The complete 10 page revised Excel Workbook ( "demo- costs - M493- 5- 11- 11 -97 ") is
attached to this report as Table 2 - "Comparison of DMG's and Climax's Structural
Demolition Cost Estimates."
