• Im~c~ation <br />No irrigation is planned for the areas to be seeded or mulched. If.climatic conditions such as severe <br />drought dictate that irrigation must be used at some future date, a detailed irrigation plan will be submitted <br />to the Division for approval prior to the implementation of any irrigation program. <br />Noxious Weed Control Plan <br />At the time of this writing, 2006, noxious weeds of concern in the general area that have been identified <br />are White Top, Canada Thistle, Scotch Thistle, Russian Knapweed, and Tamarisk. At the request of the <br />Division, the Operator's efforts are being formalized with the following weed control plan. <br />Whitetop will be sprayed with Dupont Escort, 1-2 oz/acre mixed with anon-ionic surfactant at 1 quart per <br />100 gallons. It will not be applied when spray partices may be carried by air currents to areas where <br />desirable plants are growing. Spraying will be done by use of a backpack spray system or an ATV <br />mounted spray tank. <br />Whitetop should be treated in the Spring between mid-April and mid-May in the pre-flower stage. <br />Canada Thistle wilt be sprayed with Curtail, 2 quarts/acre mrxed witty a non-ionic surfactant at 4 quart per <br />100 gallons of spray. It will not be applied when spray particles may be carried by air curcents to areas <br />where desirable plants are growing. Spraying will be done by use of a backpack spray system or an ATV <br />mounted spray tank. <br />Canada Thistle should be sprayed in the spring, prior to bud stage. <br />• Scotch Thistle will be sprayed with Curtail, 2 quarts/acre mixed with anon-ionic surfactant at 1 quart per <br />100 gallons of spray. It will not be applied when spray particles may be carried by air currents to areas <br />where desirable plants are growing. Spraying will be done by use of a backpack spray system or an ATV <br />mounted spray tank. <br />Scotch Thistle rosette's should be sprayed in the fall, <br />The Operator intends to initiate Tamarisk control in permanently regraded and seeded areas beginning in <br />the fall of 2006. Tamarisk will be controlled by mechanical removal or by cutting the stem and applying <br />herbicide (known as the cut-stump method). Individual tamarisk plants will be cut as Gose to the ground <br />as possible and herbicide will be applied immediately thereafter to the perimeters of the cut stems. The <br />herbicides used will be triclopyr (e.g. Garton4 or Pathfinderllj or glyphosate (Rodeo). Fall treatments are <br />believed to be most effective because the plants are translocating materials to their roots. <br />Russian Knapweed will be sprayed with Curtail, 3 quarts/acre mixed with anon-ionic surfactant at 1 quart <br />per 100 gallons. It will not be applied when spray particles may be carried by air currents to areas where <br />desirable plants are growing.
