Pi~sru->;
Est excavations Here conducted at the Ridge Site between July 19
aril 23, 1986. The project was under my field direction and I also
served as Principal Investigator on behalf of Centuries Feseerrch. The
field crew consisted of Doug Potter, 1~ny Welt and David Hatfield.
' Kathy Welt, Ehvironmental Specialist with Colorado West[roreland, managed
CRi's contract and handled logistic details. I am grateful to Kathy and
to Matt Saicurada of CbII for the opportunity to further assist the
Orchard Valley hLine. Max Witkind, District Archaeologist for the Bureau
of Land Management in the Durango office visited the site acid shared his
observations. His interest in helping CRI meet the timing needs of
e Colorado Westmoreland's project has been strong and positive. I am
grateful to Max and to Paberto Costalles in the Denver BLM office for
their cooperation throughout CWI's 1986 cultural resource program. Zhis
field effort was hampered by daily lightening storms which repeatedly
drove us off the ridge early in the day. My sincerest thanks to my crew
of faithful sky watchers.
Steven G. Baker, M.A.
President
~h Centuries Reserarch, Inc.
p1 Septe[rber 30, 1986
i~
•

•
v
