Third St, Room 301
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
RE: Permit No. M- 1984 -014, JD -8 Mine, Proposed Methodology for Radiometric Scan
of Mine Permit Area
Mr. Means:
Attached is a brief explanation of the proposed approach that Cotter Corporation is
proposing to conduct a background radiometric scan of the JD -8 permit area. All of the
areas that are currently, or are planned to be affected by the JD -8 mining operations will
have the radiometric scanning done. This includes the mine waste dump area, the topsoil
storage area, the main access road, and the proposed ventholes and venthole access roads.
This radiometric scanning will be done as soon as possible in an effort to be completed
prior to snow cover on the areas to be scanned.
If you have further questions or comments regarding the proposed radiometric scanning
methodology, please call me at Cotter's Nucla office, 970 - 864 -7347.
Respectfully,
Glen Williams
Vice President of Mining
Cotter Corporation
JD -8 EPP radiometric scanning method.doc
Cotter Corporation - West Slope Operations
P.O.
