EXHIBIT C
PRE-MINING AND MINING PLAN MAPS
A site plan of the nahcolite mine area is shown in Figure C-1. The site plan includes the following:
• lease area outlined;
• closest section corners with township, range, and sections identified;
• surface plant access road; and
• surface facility locations.
Not all topsoil stockpiles have been shown on Figure C-1 because these areas will be selected by
the construction field staff in order to place the topsoil in the most advantageous locations. As
discussed in Exhibit E Reclamation Plan, salvaged soils will be stockpiled in designated storage
locations as near as possible to salvage and re-use locations. Topsoil stockpiles for roads and
pipeline corridors will be linear and located along and generally up-gradient of the road or corridor.
Stockpiles will be located on stable sites in areas that are not planned for disturbance and where
wind and water erosion potentials are minimized. Stockpile areas will avoid, or will be adequately
protected form, concentrated surface water flows. Where needed, erosion and sediment control
structures such as ditches, berms, and silt fencing will be placed and properly maintained around
the perimeter of stockpiles until vegetation cover is established on the stockpiles. Such vegetation
cover will be established using the seed mixture listed in Table E-1 in Exhibit E. Seeding will occur
on each stockpile during the first normal planting period (i.e., fall or spring) following stockpile
placement.
All immediately adjacent surface owners of record are shown on Figure C-2. Area topography,
stream drainages and existing structures are shown on Figure C-3. Major vegetation associations
are shown on Figure C-4. Soil mapping units are shown on Figure C-5. Typical pipe rack
construction is shown on Figure C-6, typical well field pad construction is shown on Figure C-7, and
typical pond liner construction is shown on Figure C-8,
G:\LMNA78545.002\Reclamation\Reclamexh.DOC C-1
