AmerAlia plans on constructing and operating a nahcolite solution mining <br />and sodium biocarbonate production facility at its site near Meeker, <br />Colorado. The attached map was used to show the project location. <br />2. The project site is located on the Rock School Lease in the Piceance Creek <br />Basin. <br />3. Production will be in three phases over the following approximate time <br />frames: <br />• 50,000 tpy for about the first 2 years during the pilot phase; <br />• 75,000 tpy for approximately years 2 to 4; and <br />• 150,000 tpy starting approximately in year 5. <br />4. There will be approximately 20 to 25 permanent employees. <br />5. Construction is scheduled to start July to August 1999; operations will start <br />in May to June 2000. <br />6. Hot water will be used for the solution mining. Water rights were applied <br />for the end of December 1998. Alluvial wells will be used to obtain the <br />water which will be stored in a pond. Although one of the three filings for <br />water rights was for a deep well. <br />7. A Preliminary Plot Plan (SK -CI -110, 1/13/99) was used to show the location <br />of the water storage pond and other project facilities including: <br />• Site access road; <br />
