STOVER & ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />2352 NORTH 7th STREET, UNIT B <br />GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO 81501 <br />PHONE: (970) 245 -4101, FAX 242 -7908 <br />2. <br />On behalf of New Elk Coal Company, (NECC) enclosed is an application for a technical revision <br />to provide for an expansion of the bathhouse and incorporate the design of a small area <br />exemption into the permit application package. <br />Description of Revision <br />New Elk Coal Company needs to expand its bathhouse. The expansion will be located on the <br />southeast corner of the facility. The expansion will be approximately 21 feet wide and 62 feet <br />long. <br />A 1.8 acre small are exemption is proposed for an area south of Pond 7. This area will be used <br />for material storage and associated activities. Run off from the area will be contained with berms <br />and or silt fences. At a minimum there will be a 20 foot long silt fence at the low point of the <br />small area exemption. <br />Disturbed and Affected Area <br />There will not be any additional disturbed area as a result of this revision. <br />Exhibit 19(17) presents the drainage calculations and sediment fence design for the proposed <br />small area exemption located south of pond 7. A reclamation estimate is provided as Exhibit 28. <br />
