likely. Sparse vegetative cover has established on some of the reclaimed disturbed areas, but
not on all.
The lower water tank bench was recently disturbed for drilling. The clean water diversion was
disturbed by the drilling operations and needs to be restored. Seeding of the area has not
occurred since the structures have yet to be placed on the site. Erosion control measures will
have to be maintained during all phases of construction until vegetation has fully established.
Topsoil Pile #2 — This area is an active small area exemption. No material has been added to the
existing stockpile recently. Topsoil markers are in place and the pile has good vegetative cover.
Topsoil Stockpile #1 and Subsoil Stockpile #1 —This area is an active small area exemption. The
material to be placed here will come from the Bates Portal development.
East Side of Development Coal Waste Pile —This is an isolated area located between the disturbed
area drainage ditches. Area has been reclaimed for more than 15 years. Vegetative cover has
established well and has established shrub growth.
Explosives Area (Cap and Powder House) — Cap and powder house is located upstream of the clean
water diversion. Silt fence was utilized until vegetation could establish. Area has been reclaimed
for 10 years and has good vegetative cover.
Reclaimed Contaminated Topsoil Area — A berm was constructed between the contaminated soil
area and the river. The area has been reclaimed and vegetation is beginning to establish.
