•
•
•
(d) Specify the thickness of the deposit to be mined:
This is an underground mining operation, producing ore from various near vertical mineralized
veins. Therefore, deposit thickness is not applicable.
(e) Describe the major components of the mining operation such as:
roads, access routes, pit, office, shop /maintenance buildings, plant,
processing facilities, and any underground openings such as adits or
ventilation facilities. These components must be located on Exhibit E
— Map:
Exhibit E depicts the major components of the existing mining operation. With the exception of
the proposed Cross Mine Decline Portal, new office /dry facility, waste rock pile(s) and new
sewer system, no other changes are proposed at this time. The proposed office /dry facility will
measure approximately 30 feet by 57 feet. The dimensions of the other proposed facility
additions will be as depicted on Exhibit E.
(f Specify the dimensions of any significant disturbance to the land
surface such as pit excavations, mine benches, impoundments,
stockpiles, waste rock disposal areas, etc:
A new portal and decline to access the underground mine workings is proposed as part of this
Amendment. The new portal and decline will be the source of the waste rock.
One waste rock pile will be located adjacent the proposed Cross Mine Decline portal. The other
waste rock stockpile will be located at the upper or western entrance to the operation. Together,
the two waste rock piles will approximately 0.3 acres. The upper waste rock pile will only be
utilized in the event there is insufficient room to stockpile the Cross Mine Decline portal waste
rock adjacent to portal development.
(g) Specify the dimensions of any existing or proposed roads that will be
used for the mining operation. Describe any improvements necessary
on existing roads and the specifications to be used in the construction
of new roads. Describe any associated drainage and runoff conveyance
structures to include sufficient information to evaluate structure sizing:
No road changes are proposed as part of this Amendment. No changes to drainage and runoff
conveyance structures are proposed as part of this Amendment. In the event the upper waste
rock pile is needed for waste rock storage, a technical revision will be submitted to address
runoff and drainage control, if needed. The existing drainage controls will be sufficient for the
proposed waste rock pile adjacent to the Decline portal, new office /dry facility and the new
sewer system.
Page 26
