Survival was 90% in the 100% effluent concentration and
ranged from 90% - 100% in the remaining effluent concentrations. Control survival was 100 %.
No statistically significant mortality was measured in any effluent concentration when compared
to the control. The No Observable Effect Concentration (NOEC) for lethality was 100 %. The
IC25 for lethality was >100%.
Table 2. Summary of Ceriodaphnia dubia test results. Ten animals were exposed at each
concentration. An asterisk ( *) denotes a statistically significant difference from the control.
No.
Concentration Surviving_
Control (0 %) 10
20% 10
40% 10
60% 9
80% 10
100%
18.7
18.2
19.8
17.0
16.9
9 14.9
12
15
14
0
10
0
23
23
26
22
25
25
Average numbers of neonates was 14.9 in the 100% effluent concentration and ranged
from 16.9 - 19.8 in the remaining effluent concentrations. Average number of neonates in the
control was 18.7 for statistical analysis and for test acceptability criteria. Na statistically
significant differences in the number of neonates were found between the control and any
effluent concentration. The NOEC for reproduction was 100%. The IC25 for reproduction was
>100%.
7
