The Whirlwind Mine was permitted in
2008 as a designated mining operation (DMO) due to the fact that mine water treatment
and discharge was required for mining operations. As such, an Environmental Protection
Plan (EPP) was prepared for the Whirlwind Mine and submitted in the 112d Permit
Application as Exhibit T in June 2007. The application and EPP were approved by your
office on February 21, 2008 and the 112d Mining Permit was issued on September 10,
2008.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
P.
