B) Geomembrane Exposure <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />CQA ACTIVITIES: <br />SUMMARY: <br />ame <br />The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction <br />activities of the contractor. <br />AMEC observed slope contouring within the Phase 5 VLF. <br />AMEC observed and assisted in the placement of SLF material within the Phase 5 VLF. <br />samples were marked during fusion seaming. Approximately 464 linear feet of seam was <br />extrusion welded using two extrusion welding machine /welding technician combinations. <br />Three destructive test samples were marked during extrusion seaming. All destructive tests <br />performed were within project specifications. Non - destructive testing was performed for fusion <br />welded seams. Repairs were performed using the extrusion welding method for all marked <br />defects. Vacuum testing was performed for all extrusion welded seams and repairs. <br />During the Cresson blast, an AMEC field representative observed the geomembrane and no <br />damage was noted. <br />C) Anchor Trench <br />1) VLF <br />Anchor trench excavation continued between stations A4 +00 ( + / -) and A5 +50 ( + / -), near <br />centerline, and between stations A26 +00 ( + / -) and A30 +00 ( + / -), approximately 200 feet left of <br />centerline, using a John Deere 35D excavator and one laborer. The anchor trench was <br />inspected by an AMEC field representative and found to be constructed in accordance with <br />design drawings and project specifications. <br />Anchor trench backfill was performed between stations A28 +00 ( + / -) and A30 +00 ( + / -), <br />approximately 200 feet left of centerline, and between stations A35 +00 ( + / -) and A39 +00 ( + / -), <br />near centerline, using a John Deere 35D excavator, a vibratory plate compactor and laborers. <br />An AMEC field representative observed the backfill and it was found to be constructed in <br />accordance with design drawings and project specifications. <br />D) Geomembrane Acceptance <br />1) VLF <br />Primary 80mil geomembrane (P636 -P685, P702 -P766, P768 -P803, P856 -P873, P875 -P878, <br />P880 -P936 and P940 -P988) shown on Figure 4 was inspected by AMEC and Lonestar <br />representatives and found to be installed within project specifications and acceptable for <br />continued construction activities. <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 09.17.2011 <br />
