Box 980
t GYPSUM, COLORADO 81637
(970) 524-9700
February 26, 2001
Fax: (970) 524-8140
Mr.Allen Sorenson RECEIVED
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St Room 215 FEB 2 3 2001
Denver, Colorado 80203
Division of Minerals and Geology
Re: Erosion Runoff Corrective Action
Dear Allen:
Observations during your 1-26-01 inspection of the Eagle Gypsum Mine indicated that
storm water drainage from the maintenance parking lot was cutting an erosion gully into the
backfilled slope just south of the parking lot Fill material has now been added to the south side of
the parking lot and the area has been re-graded to drain the parking lot into the existing access
road ditch to the north. The north side of the parking lot intersecting the access road has also been
ripped and cut down to accommodate the new drainage pattern. The erosion gully on the backfilled
slope has been repaired with fill material and re-grading. The steps taken seem to have solved the
problem but we will inspect the drainage pattern after the next major storm event and determine if
additional re-grading is required. Please contact me with any further questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Stephen A. Onorofskie
Mine Manager
