All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The North Thompson Creek Mine has submitted a Technical Revision to their permit to add a section of open ditch along the <br />discharge line from treatment pond T -2 to NPDES outfall 001. This revision will replace the current discharge pipe with a <br />discharge ditch in the same location. No new lands are proposed for disturbance and the present outfall will not change. There <br />will be no change in the mine's liability as a result of this revision. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 10 miles Southwest of Carbondale, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />T8S, R89W; Portions of Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 and 35 <br />T9S, R89W; Portions of Sections 2, 3 and 4 <br />T7S, R88W; Portions of Sections 20, 29, 30 and 32 <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Stony Ridge. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Garfield County Clerk <br />and Recorder, 109 8th Street, Suite 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and at the Division office. For additional information <br />or to provide written comments, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866 -3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be <br />submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
