I <br />SECTION 02776.2 GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER (GCL) <br />PART 1: GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />amec( <br />This SPECIFICATION covers the technical requirements for the furnishing and installation of the geosynthetic <br />clay liner described herein. All materials used shall meet the requirements of this SPECIFICATION, and all <br />Work shall be performed in accordance with the procedures provided herein and the DRAWINGS. All <br />procedures, operations, and methods shall be in strict compliance with the SPECIFICATIONS, Construction <br />Quality Assurance Plan, and the DRAWINGS. <br />1.02 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A. Section 01400.2 — Geosynthetics Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Plan. <br />B. Section 02200.0 — Earthworks. <br />C. Section 02776.0 — Geomembrane. <br />1.03 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) - A manufactured hydraulic barrier consisting of clay bonded to a <br />layer or layers of geosynthetics. <br />B. Geomembrane — An essentially impermeable geosynthetic composed of one or more geosynthetic <br />sheets. <br />C. Geotextile — Any permeable geosynthetic comprised solely of textiles. <br />D. Minimum Average Roll Value — For geosynthetics, the value calculated as the typical value minus <br />two (2) standard deviations from documented quality control test results for a defined population <br />from one specific test method associated with one specific property. <br />E. Overlap — Where two adjacent GCL panels contact, the distance measuring perpendicular from the <br />overlying edge of one panel to the underlying edge of the other. <br />F. Typical Value — The mean value calculated from documented manufacturing quality control test <br />results for a defined population obtained from one test method associated with one specific property. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submittals with Bid Documents <br />CONTRACTOR shall provide the following information relating to the GCL MANUFACTURER <br />with its proposal: <br />1. Conceptual description of the proposed plan for placement of the GCL panels over the <br />area of installation. <br />2.
