OBSERVATIONS
PERMIT #: M- 1999 -002
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM
INSPECTION DATE: September 20, 2011
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division
of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). Celina Akin with American Soda, LLP accompanied the inspector
during the inspection. The American Soda Yankee Gulch Minerals Project is located 22 miles southwest of
Meeker, Colorado in Rio Blanco County.
The purpose of the site visit was to inspect the status of the operation and to observe the current conditions of
the mining project.
The site is still not producing nahcolite and the only activity that is occurring is environmental monitoring and
site maintinance. The operation is due for a reclamation cost estimate update but the operator is planning to
submit a partial release request in the near future and the reclamation cost estimate will be conducted as a part
of the partial release request once it has been submitted.
A pipline was under construction within the sodium lease during the inspection.
The site appeared to be orderly and no problems were identified during the inspection.
A copy of this ispection was supplied to Paul Dagget at the Bureau of Land Management - White River Field
Office. If there are any questions regarding this inspection report please contact me at (970) 241 -2042.
