a
GA.LILT GROUP LLC
September 16, 2011
Mr. John Murphy, District Ranger
USDA Forest Service, Gunnison Ranger District
216 North Colorado Street
Gunnison, CO 81230
Subject: Supplemental Information
Dear Mr. Murphy:
As we discussed in the meeting in your office on September 14 Gault Group, LLC is working
with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) to facilitate the timely issuance of
a Reclamation Permit and placement of financial assurance for activities described in the
proposed Tomichi Resources Plan of Operations (PoO). DRMS has requested confirmation on
certain aspects of reclamation, the timing of which has become critical to the applicant. The
following is our understanding of the product of discussions with you and your staff concerning
the precise reclamation procedures for the Tomichi drilling program.
Nine drill holes will be placed either within the existing road -way, or in the case of hole number
P -01, immediately adjacent to the roadway in an area of previous disturbance. Necessary
reclamation is limited to the closing/plugging of holes pursuant to applicable regulations, and the
re- closure of two road segments through the repair of two "tank traps" at the intersection of each
of these two roads with FS Road 888.3A. The road segments (see attached map) were previously
closed and the de- commissioning authorized in the Gunnison Travel Plan (June, 2010) currently
in effect. The two tank traps would be repaired using a CAT 429G center -pivot track hoe with
thumb, or its equivalent. Total volume of material moved is estimated at 297.92 cubic feet,
assuming a trench depth of 4 feet, length of 14 feet, sides at angle of repose, and a corresponding
berm of the same size and configuration (see attached cross section). Re- closure of the access
road to hole number P -08 would also entail the selective placement of available down- and -dead
slash material adjacent to the tank trap.
36 West Main Street Cortez, CO 81321 ® Ph 970.565.1222 Fx 970.565 -1226
www.gaultgroup.com
