Mr. Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 /
RE: Knodel Pit, File No. " I- 2011 -042
112 Construction Materials Reclamation Permit
,•Response to Letter Dated August 24, 2011 - Preliminary Adequacy
Review
Dear Mr. Scott,
40586 Co. Rd. 21
Haxtun, CO 80731
September 26, 2011
Sincerely,
Randy Schafer
Consultant
Enclosure: IProof of Publication
roof of Notification to adjoining landowners
Howard McGinnis, Yuma County Truck and Mining Foreman, responded to your
adequacy issues in a letter of separate cover dated August 29, 2011 regarding on-
site fuel storage and the notarized agreement between Susan Knodel and Yuma
County regarding man-made structures within 200 feet of the pit. I am assuming
that response adequately addresses both of those issues.
I am attaching the Proof of Publication of the legal notice on the Knodel Pit from
the Wray Gazette. I am also providing copies of the Proof of Notification of
landowners and adjoining landowners.
Yuma County is especially aware of the recommendations provided by NRCS as
reclamation occurs. They do intend to work closely with the technicians to make
sure the reclamation efforts will prevent erosion at the site.
Please let me know what additional information is needed at this time. My
mailing address is shown above. I can be reached during working hours at 970-
854 -3778. Thank you for your consideration.
