Doing things this fall would be fine.
I do not know who the current landowners are, or their current mailing addresses. While there is some info in the SL -2
file for the La Plata Mine, (C- 1987 -072), that bond release was processed five years ago, so the owners may have
changed. I suggest talking to Bruce Stover, to see if Julie Annear could do a check of La Plata County's surface ownership
records. If you need something in writing from me to Bruce requesting Julie's assistance, let me know.
Thanks!
Dan
Daniel I. Hernandez
Daniel I. Thanks for putting the maps together, it really helped. We
figured the best way to spend the $2,401.00 remaining bond would be to pick up junk around the site...like the
abandoned car and other mining related material....and maybe do some seeding and a few check dams. It sounds like
Kirstin may be able to do it this Fall. How does that sound?
Do you happen to know who the landowner is for the site? We notify landowners prior to doing any work on site using
forfeited bond money. Dan Matthews put together a letter for Fruita....so we could use that format if you like or I have a
more simplified version of the notice for Mineral sites.
Thanks.
Erica
5
