Mining Plan <br />Exhibit D <br />6.4.4(b) Earthmoving <br />The following earthmoving activities will be undertaken at the site (in proposed order of <br />operation): <br />• Installation of stormwater structures on, and maintenance of, the existing access roads <br />and operational benches ( Attachment U -3); <br />• Cut and fill activities associated with construction and stabilization of the New <br />Access Road, and stabilizing pre- existing roads' ( Attachment D -1); <br />• Removal of collapse material from the May Day No. 1 portal ( Attachment D -2) and <br />stockpiled at the May Day No. 2 bench ( Attachment D -3); <br />• Expansion of the May Day No. 2 bench for run of mine rock storage; <br />• Initiate corrective action activities at the May Day No. 3 and Chief Portal <br />(Attachment D -4); and, <br />• If necessary to satisfy DWR requirements construction of an augmentation pond at <br />the Idaho Affected Area, including the associated pipelines and diversion structures <br />(Attachment D -5). <br />6.4.3(c) Water diversions and impoundments <br />Water diversions will be constructed on the access roads and operational benches as <br />described within the SWMP. (Attachment U -3). <br />• If required by DWR, an augmentation pond will be constructed and designed to <br />contain 1.0 acre -foot of water in order to meet State Engineer water right <br />augmentation requirements (Water Rights Case No. 06CW91). The pond will be <br />constructed as per Attachment D -6 and Figure D -1. Water will be diverted from a <br />stilling basin to be constructed at the Idaho Spring. A 12 -inch pipe will divert <br />water from the Spring when authorized, pumped and returned from the pond as <br />necessary to meet water rights requirements using a 4 -inch discharge pipe. <br />Returned water will be discharged to a rip rap protected Idaho Spring channel. <br />The stilling basin and the location of the two pipelines are illustrated on <br />Attachment D -6, Figure D -1 and Figure D -2. <br />I Pre - existing roads are roads that are located east of the La Plata River that were constructed to support historical <br />mining at the May Day No. 1, May Day No. 2, May Day No. 3 (including Chief Portal) and the Idaho mine <br />complex.
