I. Data Review
A. Groundwater Levels
Main Mine Site Piezometers and Stone Columns
In general, water levels have increased in the Main Mine Site piezometers during the 1" and 2n
Quarters of 2009 and then fallen during the 2 and 3 Quarters. Most of the piezometers have
fallen since their annual peak levels at or near the end of March. This trend follows the typical
annual groundwater fluctuations which have been observed previously.
Groundwater levels have reached a record high during this period at the following locations:
01 -01 Material Storage Bench
02 -04 Slope Above Administration Building Parking Lot
MSB -06 -03 Slope Above Material Storage Bench
MSB -06 -05 Slope Above Portal and Upper Access Road
Sylvester Gulch Piezometers
Not enough data points have been collected in Sylvester Gulch during the period to determine if the
piezometers are following their annual trends, but groundwater levels have reached a record high
during this period at the following locations:
05 -101 (d= 37.5')
05-101 (d=50.0')
Above Sylvester Gulch Substation
Above Sylvester Gulch Substation
Barr Engineering Company 1 2 and 3 Quarters of 2009
08126 -031 Geotechnical Monitoring
