March 15 and July 30. We also recommend that Twenty Mile Coal Company and CPW have discussions in
the near future in regard to possible mitigation measures to enhance and /or protect surrounding areas of
grouse habitat under their ownership or control in order to mitigate the cumulative impacts of the
development occurring in the Twenty -Mile Park area.
The CDOW is not aware of any federally listed threatened or endangered species habitat that will be
impacted by the proposed drill site activity. There are no known Greater sage grouse nests within the
proposed activity area. The greater sandhill crane is a Colorado species of concern and may utilize some
areas within the proposed project but should not be impacted as long as the grouse timing
recommendations listed above are followed. The utility borehole pad and associated access road is in big
game winter range, however, we do not anticipate lasting impacts to winter range if the site is reclaimed
properly.
Again, -we appreciate -the opportunity-to comment on Twentymile Coal's proposed exploration project.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call Hayden DWM Steve Znamenacek at 846 -3732.
James M.
