The Second Adequacy Review Letter requests clarification on how the two ponds <br />will be reclaimed. After use of the holding ponds, any remaining residue or <br />sediments will be characterized and disposed of properly. Lining material will be <br />cut up and disposed at the Mineral County landfill. All HDPE surface piping at the <br />#2 holding pond will be removed and either reused or disposed at the landfill. The <br />buried piping to the #1 pond will be abandoned in place. <br />Reclamation of the borrow sites for the berm construction for holding ponds #1 <br />and #2 will involve re- contouring the sites to pre - construction slopes, replacing <br />salvaged topsoil , and scarifying and reseeding the slopes. The berm material for <br />Holding Pond #1 will be used to fill in the pond excavation. Salvaged topsoil will <br />be replaced, scarified and reseeded. The berm for the #2 pond will be re- contoured <br />into the into the pond area, salvaged topsoil will be replaced, scarified and <br />reseeded. The Water Truck Transfer Pad and any new access road beyond the <br />existing road to pond #2 will be re- contoured, scarified and reseeded. See the <br />attached plan map of Holding Pond #2. <br />We are providing two hard copies of this response letter to the Durango Field <br />Office as requested.
