August 31, 2011 C- 1991- 078/Hamilton Mine MLT <br />• All culvert pipes were found to be clear at the inlet and outlet ends. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />• The fences around the reclaimed Mining Areas No. 1 and No. 2 and the facilities area each <br />had at least one segment where the fence was opened to allow access and egress. No cattle <br />are in the vicinity this time of year. <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />• Four -wing saltbush within the reclaimed areas has finally leafed -out and now appears to be <br />thriving. <br />• Areas reclaimed in late 2010 continue to be dominated by Russian thistle (Photo 2). <br />• A few solitary Russian knapweed plants were observed at the eastern end of reclaimed <br />Topsoil Stockpile #2 and on the northern end of the west bank of Pond B. <br />• Past weed control efforts have been largely effective in reducing the presence of noxious <br />weeds in the disturbed area. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution <br />4.06.4: <br />• The Pond B Topsoil Stockpile, which will remain as a permanent feature, is beautifully <br />revegetated (Photo 3) with native species of shrubs, forbs, and grasses, including a young <br />pinyon pine (Photo 4). <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 Page 3 of 7 <br />
