IN REPLY REFER TO:
WCG- RThompson
LND -6.00
Mr. Joseph Dudash
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Dudash:
United States Department of the Interior
BUREAU OF RECLAMATION
Upper Colorado Region
Western Colorado Area Office
2764 Compass Drive, Suite 106
Grand Junction, CO 81506
AUG 1 9 2911
Sincerely,
Kathleen Ozga'
Lands and Recreation Group Chief
Subject: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit C- 1996 -083), Permit Renewal Application No. 3
(RN -3)
This letter is in response to your letter of August 9, 2011. In subsequent conversation with J. E.
Stover & Associates, Inc., Reclamation has been informed that no significant changes to
operations have been proposed under this permit renewal which would impact Reclamation
facilities or project water resources.
At this time, we are satisfied with Bowie Resources Limited's (BRL) continuing partnership and
cooperation in protection of the water facilities of the Fire Mountain Canal, which is a significant
Reclamation project feature in western Colorado. We look forward to continuing this
partnership with all parties involved. Please continue to keep us informed of this and any future
requests, revision and correspondence submitted by BRL including attachments and responses
from your agency.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions concerning our
comments, please contact Rutheyi Thompson at 970- 248 -0617.
