This substitute water supply plan replaces depletions from
mining at the Timnath Connell Pit. The required fee of $257 has been submitted for the Timnath
Connell Pit (receipt no. 3650765).
On August 11, 2006, the State Engineer approved the clay liner for the Stute Pit, which
eliminated the need to replace new depletions from the evaporation of exposed ground water.
Because the Stute Pit has been Tined, is no longer operating, and no longer exposes ground water
to the atmosphere, no depletions from the site will result during this plan period. In addition, no
lagged depletions from past operations at the site will accrue to the stream system during this plan
period. Therefore, the Stute Pit is not considered in this plan. The Timnath - Connell Pit is further
described below:
John W. Hickenlooper
Govemor
Mike King
Executive
Dick Wolfe, P.E.
Director/State Engineer
Depletions
The Timnath - Connell Pit will continue to be mined with an estimated 200,000 tons of
aggregate to be mined annually, resulting in 5.9 acre -feet of water lost in the mined product, and
0.8 acre -feet of water to be used for dust control. Gross evaporation at the Timnath - Connell Pit is
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303 -866 -3581 • Fax: 303 - 866 -3589
www.water.state.co.us
