The majority of the site has been planted to hay and is being harvested.
The quality and quantity of the crop lead me to conclude that the hayfields (comprising
approximately 80% of the property) have been irrigated.
There. does not appear to be critical habitat for the Preble's meadow jumping mouse, Ute
Ladies- tresses orchid or western burrowing owl. Further, no bald eagle nests or
individuals were observed on the property.
No wetland areas were observed. The Last Chance Ditch, an irrigation canal that has
been deemed waters of the United States by the Corps of Engineers, was flowing at the
time of my site visit today. If modifications to the Last Chance Ditch are anticipated, the
appropriate permit should be secured from the Corps of Engineers.
If we can be of further assistance, please call.
Sincerely,
Michael S.
