Nov 02 2005 9:51AM HP LASERJET FAX
ASPHALT
303- 652 -8788 P.
SPECIALTIES CO.
10100 Dallas St. • Henderson, CO 80640 • (303) 289 -8555 • Fax: (303) 289 -7707
November 1, 2005
Mr. Tony Waldron, Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Div. of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
RE: Request for Extension of Time for Adequacy Review Comments for Permit
Application, Nelson Mining Resource. DMG Application No. M- 2005 -059
Dear Mr. Waldron:
Per your faxed letter to me of today regarding the time necessary to complete your
adequacy review of the referenced submittal, and per the requirements of the Division, I
am officially requesting that Asphalt Specialties Co., Inc (ASCI), the applicant for the
referenced application, be granted an extension of time to effectively address the
forthcoming comments of the Adequacy Review. We are requesting that we be granted
an extension of time to address these comments, based on your description of what the
comments will entail, until November 18, 2005.
Although the Division has had the application materials for approximately 90 days in
which to do the review, I do understand that you were not given the application until 10-
19 -05 and have not had time to do a thorough review of the application. As I have stated
to you, this is a very straightforward application with little in the way of "constraints" on
the mining, as is shown by the amount of gravel mining occurring all around our
proposed permit area.
Please get Peter Wayland and me your complete review comments as soon as possible so
that we can begin the process to answer them.
Sincerely,
Rob Laird
Land Manager
cc: file
