XII. <br />XIII. <br />habitat (upland) is 1000 trees /shrubs per acre. The woody plant density standard <br />for the wildlife habitat (riparian) is 1,742 trees /shrubs per acre. <br />The Division proposes to approve the basis for this comparison. <br />D. The Division approves of the reference areas, which the applicant has <br />selected and received approval for under Technical Revision No. 44 (TR -44), <br />based on the requirements of Rule 4.15.7(3). <br />E. The reference areas will be utilized to determine revegetation success in a <br />manner that the Division finds acceptable 4.15.7(4)). <br />Post mining Land Use <br />No specific approvals are granted under this section. <br />Protection of Fish, Wildlife, and Related Environmental Values <br />A. Fish and wildlife habitat is a planned post mining land use at the mine site. The <br />applicant has selected appropriate plant species and distributions to benefit fish <br />and wildlife. The reclamation plan at the mine site calls for restoration of much of <br />the rangeland along the Purgatoire River to riparian vegetation. The refuse <br />disposal area and pond 008 will be reclaimed to upland wildlife habitat, which <br />includes the establishment of shrub species (4.18(5)(i)). <br />XIV. Protection of Underground Mining <br />No specific approvals are granted under this section. <br />XV. Subsidence Control <br />No specific approvals are granted under this section. The applicant has provided <br />detailed subsidence control plans, monitoring and mitigation in Exhibit 24 of the <br />application. In general, the applicant proposes to use limited extraction, as necessary, <br />to prevent surface subsidence in areas where structures or renewable resources exist. <br />XVI. Concurrent Surface and Underground Mining <br />No specific approvals are granted under this section. <br />XVII. Operations on Alluvial Valley Floors <br />A. The Division has determined that two alluvial valley floors exist within the <br />affected or adjacent area.
