2 .o PROJECT T I ESC IPTION <br />2.1 Location <br />The Project is located southeast of the City of Boulder, Colorado, in the southern part of <br />Boulder County in Northern Colorado. The Project Iles in Sections 9, 10 and 16, Township <br />South, Range 70 West of the 6th principal Meridian (see Figure . The reach extends <br />from a point downstream of Colorado Highway ay to a point upstream of U.S. Highway 36. <br />2. Project Features <br />The Project is designed to provide 1 00-year flood protection to portions of unincorporated <br />Boulder County and portions of the City of Boulder from a portion, of the runoff orig <br />in the approximate 132 square mile South Boulder Creek drainage basin southeast of the <br />Boulder city limits. <br />The Project was designed by Leonard Dice Consulting Water Engineers, Inc. LF CAE , <br />Denver, er, Colorado, under the direction of the Flatiron Sand & Gravel Company, Inc, <br />Contractor for the Project was Flatiron Sand & Gravel Company, Inc., and Western Mobile, <br />Inc. both of Boulder, Colorado. <br />Funding for the Project was obtained from Concrete Equipment & Supply Co. <br />The Project lands were purchased by fee title from Concrete Equipment & Supply Co., <br />Cottonwood Land and Farms, Ltd., Quin M. LLC, and Turnpike Gravel Co. Figure <br />shows the legal description of purchas property. <br />The Project consists of the following physical features: <br />2.2.1 A left bank levee starting at the Scott Cox & Associates, Ine. station 150+70 <br />approximately and extending upstream to station 105 +00 on them SITE PLAID <br />UNIVERSITY of COLORADO PROPERTY T OUL EF , COLORADO drawing <br />dated 3/11198 (Figure 1. <br />2.2.2 Erosion protection on the strew side of the levee section bordering South <br />oWder Creep starling at Scott Cox & Associates, Inc. station 105 +00 extending <br />upstream to station 148+65. <br />2.2.3 Intem l drayage includes construction of a ditch and channel to collect <br />surface runoff from the area behind the levee and deliver the runoff to the outfaU at <br />Viele Channel (see Figure 1). <br />2. 2.4 An opening in the levee at approximately station 149+50 with a cul - vert for <br />the Tantra Lateral of Dry Creels No. 2 Ditch. 71e culvert Will be provided with are <br />appropriate closure device as illustrated in Figure 7. <br />10075757 D1 2 <br />
