Staff reviewed and accepted
the bonding documentation. This allowed the Division to withdrawal the enforcement action before the
Mined Land Reclamation Board on the same date.
Please note as discussed the bond covers the current disturbances on site. It is recommended that
Western stay within the current foot print until plans for the site are reviewed. Reclamation of some of
the disturbed area and a Technical Revision to reduce the total allowed disturbance from 20 acres down to
10 or 15 will reduce the overall estimated liabilities for the future.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
G.
