Robinson Lake Operating Plan Climax Molybdenum Company
Version: R1 Permit M- 1977 -493
• Operate the Robinson Lake Pump Station to remove water from Robinson Lake, utilizing
the installed spare pump to increase pumping capacity as needed.
• Operate Warren's Pump Station to remove water from the Robinson Lake basin into the
Tenmile Creek basin.
• In the event of a long -term power failure, Climax will mobilize a generator(s) to the Site
to power pumps as needed.
• In the event of catastrophic failure of one or more of the pump systems, Climax will
mobilize portable diesel - powered pumps to the Site to provide adequate pumping
capacity
Following any storm event, snowmelt events, and /or combination of such events that has
caused the reservoir to exceed operational thresholds, Climax will take action to return the lake
level to allow storage of a 10 -year storm event within ten days and to a level at or below the
appropriate operating threshold as soon as possible but no later than 30 days from when the
threshold is exceeded using all reasonably available measures. If the available onsite pumping
capacity is not adequate to return the water level in the lake to below the appropriate upper
operating limit following such an occurrence, the necessary equipment and appropriate actions
will be employed to return Robinson Lake as described above. No process water will be
transferred into Robinson Lake until the water level in the lake is returned to a level at or below
the appropriate operational threshold. The water removed from Robinson Lake during such an
event will be contained within the Climax process water /water treatment system in the Tenmile
Creek basin.
8.0 REPORTING
An annual report will be prepared that documents the flood storage and release status for the
year. Climax will provide a copy of this report to the Eagle Park Reservoir Company and the
Clinton Ditch & Reservoir Company concurrently with its provision to the Division of
Reclamation Mining and Safety.
EPP — Appendix D
August 2011 6
