Slope contouring was performed using various CAT dozers and a
CAT 312 excavator with a rock hammer attachment to remove rocks protruding from the
subgrade surface. Excess material generated during slope contouring was loaded into CAT 40-
ton articulating haul truck using a CAT 312 excavator and was hauled to an overburden storage
area designated by CC &V. Moisture conditioning of the subgrade surface was performed using
a tandem -axle water truck (when necessary). A CAT 563 vibratory smooth drum compactor
was used to compact subgrade surface with at least 4- passes.
VLF Weekly Report WE 07.30.2011
