Please provide the Division with a plan for sub -grade preparation of the tailings storage <br />facility (TSF) site. Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has completed its adequacy review <br />of your Technical Revision to the above referenced permit. The Technical Revision was received <br />and called complete for review on July 12, 2011. The decision date for this Technical Revision is <br />August 15, 2011. Please be advised that if you are unable to satisfactorily address any <br />concerns identified in this review before the decision date, it will be your responsibility to <br />request an extension of the review period. If there are outstanding issues that have not <br />been adequately addressed prior to the end of the review period, and no extension has been <br />requested, the Division will deny this Technical Revision. <br />1. The Applicant has stated a lower access road will be constructed on the south side of the mill. <br />A 2010 aerial image of the site shows that there is a road located south of the mill. Please <br />clarify if a new road will be constructed or if the existing road will be upgraded. In addition, <br />describe the how the road will be constructed or how the existing road will be improved. The <br />description should include dimensions of the road as well as any associated drainage and <br />runoff conveyance structures. <br />4. The Applicant has stated a 6" — 8" clay under liner will be placed on the interior slopes and <br />impoundment section. The Division requires clay liners to be constructed with a minimum <br />thickness of 12 ".
