August 1, 2011 C- 1981 - 020 /Munger Canyon Mine MPB
inspection at any of the mine site locations.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Revegetated areas throughout the site were viewed during this inspection. Vegetation along the sides of the access
road appears to be sufficient to control erosion. Tall grasses were noted in several locations along the length of the
access road. The vegetation along the reclaimed portal access is coming in nicely. The vegetation is becoming
well established between the riprap drainages. An effective stabilizing vegetative cover has been established at the
reclaimed portal access. Photographs 1 and 2 shown at the end of this inspection report were taken between the
lower to mid section of the portal access. One area of the site that had somewhat sparse vegetation was the
reclaimed coal waste pile. There are shrubs and grasses growing at the coverfill stockpile and waste disposal site
but these areas have overall less vegetative cover and appear browner than other locations of the reclaimed mine
site.
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
The Mine and Permit identification sign was properly displayed and maintained at the entrance to the permit area
from Highway 139. Stream buffer zone markers are clearly and properly displayed. There are no signs present at
either of the two topsoil pile locations. Please provide a topsoil marker for each of these topsoil piles.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
None
OTHER (SPECIFY)
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 5
