Page 2
The CRP field has a great stand of little bluestem, sideoats grama, western wheatgrass, yellow
Indian grass and big bluestem.
Land should be reshaped to a less than a 15% slope wherever possible. The surface soil layer
will need to be replaced and reshaped so the grass seed can be drilled. A clean, weed and seed
free straw should be crimped in for mulch.
I suggest your reclamation seed mix consist of 30 -45% western wheatgrass, 10 -15% sideoats
grama, 10 -15 % little bluestem, 5 -15% yellow indiangrass, 5 -15% yellow indiangrass, 5 -15% big
bluestem, 0 -10% switchgrass, and 0 -10% green needle grass. See enclosed grass seeding
recommendation for more information.
If you have any questions, or need further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely yours,
Julie Elliott
Rangeland Management Specialist
/1C
