<br />Permit Renewal Application No. 3 (RN -3)
<br />Dear Delta County Commissioners:
<br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33,
<br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 9, 2011, an application to renew an
<br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Bowie No. 2 Mine was considered complete for the purposes
<br />of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the
<br />Rules initiate from this date of filing.
<br />Bowie Resources, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land
<br />located approximately 5 miles Northeast of Paonia, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
<br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, and 22, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
<br />Portions of Sections 33 and 34, Township 12 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
<br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie.
<br />In Permit Renewal No. 3, Bowie Resources LLC is proposing to renew its underground coal mining permit at the
<br />Bowie No. 2 mine for another five year term.
<br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Commissioners, 501
<br />Palmer, Suite 227, Delta, CO 81416. For additional information, to provide written comments, or request an
<br />informal conference, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street,
<br />Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866 -3567, within thirty days (30) after the last public notice in the Delta County
<br />Independent.
