0
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1977-485
INSPECTION DATE: Ai igi ict 74, ?nm INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: TW A
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as a pre-operation inspection as part of the process of permit conversion from a 110 permit
to a 112c permit. Mr.Troy Crane, County Commissioner and Mr. Clarence Stevenson of County Road and Bridge Department
accompanied Mr.Tony Waldron and me (Al Amundson)on our inspection. The permit area is being increased from 4. 1 acres
to 160 acres. The site has been the location of mining for a considerable time.
We observed the operation's sign, and boundaries, and the significant man-made structures located near the operation. The
sign is adequate, and the boundaries, while not completely marked at this time were approximately located to determine the
presence of structures that could be affected by the mining operation. The structures of note include the county road,
maintained by the county, and fences that the county will likely maintain. North of the property, out of the 200 foot range
is a windmill.
Surface water drainage is presently directed into the pit over the highwall. We discussed conducting the surface flow to a
single point and installation of a rock-lined ditch to conduct the flow in order to prevent erosion of the slopes. This may help
control the water and assist in the operation of the pit.
A portion of the pit, approximately 400 feet along the north boundary pre-dates the law,and should be indicated on the permit
maps as"Pre-law"to prevent misunderstandings in the future. A reduced copy of this was faxed to you separately. If you
choose to disturb the pre-law portion of the pit, then the county becomes responsible for reclamation of this area.
Upon issuance of the permit, this pit will be in compliance with the requirements of the State of Colorado Division of Minerals
and Geology.
I &E Contact Address
cc: 'Er-mr.
