• <br />• <br />• <br />2.04.8 Climatological Information <br />The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) recently approved dispersion model, AERMOD, replaces <br />EPA's formerly- approved dispersion model, ISCST3. Due to the new model, a new meteorological <br />monitoring station with a 10 -meter tower was upgraded this past summer to collect the data needed. The <br />new parameters measured at the upgraded station include wind speed and wind direction at 10 meters, <br />temperature at 2- meters and 10- meters, solar radiation, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and <br />precipitation. The station began operation on July 1, 2008. One year of representative site specific <br />meteorological data was needed for modeling with AERMOD. One year's worth of data was collected by <br />June 30, 2009. The data has been reviewed and modeling work is currently underway as directed by the <br />Air Pollution Control Division permitting process. The modified air quality permits will be secured prior <br />to commencement of mining activites in the Collom Expansion Area. <br />At the request of the Colorado Air Pollution Control Division (APCD), particulate monitoring (PM10) is <br />also being conducted on a continuous basis at the site for the purposes of demonstrating compliance with <br />the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for PM10. The PM10 monitor, a "Tapered <br />Element Oscillating Micorbalance" (TEOM) system was installed at the same location as the <br />meteorological monitoring station and began collecting data on July 29, 2008. <br />Collom — Rule 2, Page 48 <br />RULE 2 PERMITS <br />Revision Date: 8/5/11 <br />Revision No.: PR -03 <br />
